Today has been a good start to my 26th year with birthday wishes crossing the globe to get to me. I received my Parents, Grandpa's and Aunt Laura's birthday wishes yesterday but refrained from opening the cards; my Mom ordered me not to open them. DO NOT OPEN UNTIL SEPT 8TH. So, this morning I opened their heart felt cards and the birth-day began.
My Rotary friends were delightful and an Aussie ice cream cake and cards awaited my awakening. I've already had one piece of cake and am itching for some more, thanks Tim!! I hope he doesn't mind that I dove into it while he was out... you know me and cake.... no refraining there.
I have just returned from a trip to the residence office where a big parcel awaited me from 11 wonderful females. You know someone knows you too well when a crown and Princess sash accompany your birthday gift. Yes my birthday is all about me, if you ask Jamie I normally claim the whole month! 'It's my birthday and I said so!' The girls (Amanda, Kim, Lisa, Sonia, Dez, Ivana, Apryl, Michelle, Tan, Lori and Shannon) were very thoughtful and included a Tim Hortons mug (just in time, my current mug is falling apart and leaks all over me!!), Tea, KETCHUP CHIPS (Lays and Pringles!), FUN DIP, and many more personal items. Love it!! I love surprises and you girls got me! It's nice to know an excellent group of people are awaiting my return.... not that I thought otherwise... but still.
Tonight I will be going out for dinner with a group of people from school. We're going to try an Italian restaurant, La Porchetta. The menu looks good and I'm sure it will be a good time. For the girls, I'll wear the sash and crown... lol....

Speaking to my Mom this morning she pointed out that today is a special day for both of us as she was 26 years old when she had me!! Kinda scary that at my age my Mom was popping out a kid!! **shiver** Not there yet. Another thing I'm not ready for is marriage! Apparently there was some confusion on a post I had made a while back (a discussion with Tania) giving some the impression that I am soon to be wed. NOT THE CASE! We were discussing a Wedding Bells Bootcamp exercise class that the group of us had done before I left the country. Just because the class is for brides doesn't mean you have to be one!!! I have reread my comment and understand how the confusion (for some) could have happened however, this is not the case. My dear friend Kim, is next!!!
