So once again, it rained today. I have been here for a week and 2 days and it has rained EVERY, SINGLE DAY!! Mind you, I am wearing shorts and a tank during this time.
Like usual, this morning I left my res. headed for a wet and exhausting trudge to school. Only today I was prepared. Not only did I have an umbrella but I also equipped myself with a long, yellow, garbage-bag looking, poncho.
I had barely made it 10 steps out my front door when I took a nose dive for the wood bridge I was crossing. This was not just any fall. My back leg slipped out causing my enormous backpack to shove me forward, all my weight landing on my left knee. Then, as I hollered in pain I must have lurched backwards and found myself upon my bottom. So, not only am I on the walking path (bridge) in a yellow poncho, but I'm also soaking wet and yelping like an injured animal. (Please wipe the tears of laughter out of your eyes) The worst part was it was slippery enough (my backpack contributed to this) that it was hard to get up! I had fallen, and I couldn't get up.
Luckily I'm young enough that falling causes enough embarrassment that I can erect rather quickly; even when my shoes are not co-operating.
By the time I had reached school my poor left knee was swollen and blue. I have a good goose egg on the cap and it hurts to straighten it.
The rain has still not let up and I have been warned that if this rain continues there might not be a bridge to cross - so much for staying dry.
Glad to hear you are doing great... well besides the nasty fall.
Kimmy and I are back from Mexico, its was awesome - it was hot to say the least. It rained for us too one of the days but that didnt stop us from drinking at the swim up bar. If it makes you feel better, i did a tumble fall into the pool the really raining day so i can feel your embarresment my friend.
I love reading your daily journeys... def keep them up.
Miss you lots, but its great to see pics of you and what you've been up to.
Talk to you soon.
Love Amanda xoxo
