It's been a very busy couple of days so my apologies for the lack of posting. I'm going to post Sunday and Monday as separate posts to make it a bit easier to follow.

Melissa and I on our final flight - to Townsville. I'm acutally holding up four fingers, this was our fourth flight. We were laughing at how horrible we looked. It sure wasn't pretty.

My flag for the next year!

We arrived in Townsville on Sunday at 2:00pm (Aussie time). Our airport pickup was a very nice woman with a lot of character. On Monday it is Aussie Day so she had an Aussie car flag which fell out the window when she tried to rid of a fly. I was told to jump out and grab it but then when she tried to put the flag back on her window it flew into the middle of the busy airport road. There was no stopping her. She did a U turn and clammered out to grab the dear flag. It was rather hilarious and a good, light welcome to Townsville.

As soon as we arrived on residence we (Melissa and I) were showed to my room. It's definitely not pretty but I'm in the process of decorating. It looked like a jail cell with a door.

Here's the door.

Panning left, this is my bed with my new doona and cover. Before the bed spread was... awful.

Continuing left: Melissa and my desk. Also the window with the air conditioner. Unfortunatley the window looks onto another residence building, not that great of a view.

My closet. This is NOT all my clothes. They only provided about 10 hangers so I still need to buy some more. To the left of the closet in a lot more shelving. It's actually a very spacious closet. We all know I need it!

Finally, this is my sink. No toliet, but a sink. It's a big mess right now as there are two of us living in this room!

In Townsville, on a Sunday, most stores close VERY early so as soon as we dropped our luggage we caught the bus to Stockland Shopping Centre. The bus costs $2.40 one way which is rather expensive seeing as how the shopping centre is only 10 minutes away! I could walk, but it would be a trekk in the very humid heat. Onced we arrived at Stockland we rushed to pick up a doona (blanket), pillows and a couple of necessary food items. It sure was a rush but we made it. I was still feeling VERY dizzy and sick so once we returned home we made a salad for dinner (YEAH VEGGIES) and I was in bed by 8am. It wasn't the greatest sleep as the air conditioner has a four hour timer on it so I woke up in the middle of the night sweating! You have to hit a button to reset it but unfortunately that button is by the desk so you must get out of bed. I'll find a solution for this very quickly.

That was Sunday!
